I can't name 10 because I am not a fan of horror movies.  

I don't know what would make a horror movie story great other than a plot that someone could relate to or a known event.

Directors and writers use frequent 'jump' scares or sudden things with that well-known sound effect (sounds like shrween)

Lost Pilot Script Questions

The writers reveal character by dialogue and action for Jack, Kate, Hurley and Boone by giving them distinct one-liners or short spurts of speaking.  We first see Jack trying to help another person by having others help him to show he is kind of a leader and go-to guy.  Kate is shown being scared to do something for Jack but after a little talking, she overcomes her fear and agrees to do it.  Hurley retorts to Jack when he asks him to do things in a kind of unwilling sort of way.  Boone is a sort of stereotypical lifeguard and that he does not really know what he's doing but is willing to do things just for the sake of it possibly be helpful.  Jack talks in a more civilized and polite manner while still giving orders.  Hurley is talks more like a youthful guy and has enough in him to be a little sarcastic.

Question #3:
I'd like to write a spy or espionage script.  Books like A Gathering of Spies and Deception Point are both interesting and fun to read.  The greatest objective would most likely be having to do with saving a specific person, country, or just the world in general.  The degree may or may not be successful depending on what elements of The Hero's Journey that I would incorporate.

In the Season 2 premiere of The Walking Dead, two of the youngest cast members have terrible things happen to them.  I thought this was surprising because just before that some of the others in the group were having their own problems.

Desperate Housewives Pilot Questions

1. Main Characters - Lynette, Gabrielle, and Carlos
They are shown how they are currently, then with a flashback and how they used to be before now.

2. The conflict is how the two housewives are going to interact with each other.

3. The writing is very excellent, the writer makes each character have their own kind of dialect and was able to relay so much information in a small space.

Question #3:
The T.V. show that we are writing is character-driven.  I know this because there is a separate plot in each episode and each of the characters are what is most important since there is no real overarching plot for the whole story that it is based off of.

Pilot Reflection

Our characters are unique because each one has a specialty that they bring to the table.  Since the setting is a high school, I felt it fitting that we introduce the characters together as a group and then to go more in-depth afterwards in separate classes.

Each character has their own problems that would be revealed over time rather than compressing everything into a single episode.  The obstacles would probably be telling the rest of the group about the problem and/or how they would handle it depending on who's problem it was.  The problems would be resolved either individually or with some of the others.
